Arriving at Kirkwall Airport

When you leave Kirkwall Airport turn right and follow the A960.
This road leads onto the Deerness Road, followed by Bignold Park Road and Dundas Crescent and finally to Palace Road.  Here, you will see St. Magnus Cathedral on the right hand side, at the bottom of Palace Road, turn left onto Victoria Street (one-way street) and you will see the Royal Bank of Scotland on your right and a red postbox on your left.  The building above the postbox is 10 Victoria Street.

Arriving at the Ferry Terminal in Kirkwall

When leaving the ferry terminal turn left and follow the Grainshore Road at the roundabout turn left and go along Ayre Road.  At the next roundabout go straight ahead and then turn right at the following roundabout onto Junction Road, take a left turn onto Castle Street.  When you get to the top of Castle Street turn right onto Broad Street and drive past the St Magnus Cathedral across the bottom of Palace Road and onto Victoria Street (one-way street) and you will see the Royal Bank of Scotland on your right and a red postbox on your left.  The building above the postbox is 10 Victoria Street. 

Arriving at the Ferry Terminal in Stromness

When leaving the ferry terminal, turn right and follow Ferry Road onto the A965 out of Stromness.  The A965 then goes through the villages of Stenness and Finstown before reaching Kirkwall (approx. 14 miles).  Follow Hatston Brae into Kirkwall and then turn right into Pickaquoy Road.  Turn left at the roundabout onto Junction Road and then turn right at Castle Street.  When you get to the top of Castle Street turn right onto Broad Street and drive past the St Magnus Cathedral across the bottom of Palace Road and onto Victoria Street (one-way street) and you will see the Royal Bank of Scotland on your right and a red postbox on your left.  The building above the postbox is 10 Victoria Street. 

Arriving at the Ferry Terminal in St Margaret’s Hope

When leaving the ferry terminal turn left follow the road through St Margaret’s Hope Village.  Turn left on to the A961 at the top of the village.  This will take you over all four of the Churchhill barriers.  Follow the road through Burray, Glimps Holm, Lambs Holm and onto the Mainland.  When you reach Kirkwall, follow the Holm Road turn left on to Bignold Park Road.  Follow down on to Dundas Crescent and then on to Palace Road.  The St Magnus Cathedral will be on the right hand side when you drive down Palace Road.  Once you reach the bottom of Palace Road, you should turn left into Victoria Street (one-way street) and you will see the Royal Bank of Scotland on your right and a red postbox on your left.  The building above the postbox is 10 Victoria Street. 

Arriving at the Bus Terminal, West Castle Street or
St. Magnus Cathedral, Broad Street

If arriving by car, Victoria Street is an extension of Broad Street and is one-way. From West Castle Street head east across and up Castle Street, you will come to St. Magnus Cathedral on your left, follow Broad Street onto Victoria Street, pass Spence’s newsagent and you will see the Royal Bank of Scotland on your right and a red postbox on your left.  The building above the postbox is 10 Victoria Street.
 
There are also bus services from the airport and ferry terminals that take you into Kirkwall and then you are just a short walk from the accommodation.
